Max sounds like a lurker who'd never actively post unless he's paid, but one of those key lurkers we all need in our communities. Perhaps this is THE lurker use case, a bit like the hair-dresser for any film, who we need to support in order that they spread the word, even though there's never any sign of them.

Sure Max is only really interested in stuff he can USE for his articles, but I don't think he's merely a lurker.. I see him as being very OPINIONATED and knowledgeable, thus only too happy to comment or contribute in forums and discussions, if for nothing else, to IMPRESS folks with his wit, wisdom and literary prowess!!
