Isis

I'd forgotten all about this little page, one of my first attempts to do multimedia. I've got this wicked set of animal cards, classic photos of a huge number of critters with the flip-siide full of text. The shot of a colobus monkey I pinched from the card for this piece was one of my faves, I guess because I remember them bounding around the trees at the base of Mt. Kenya. Gorgeous things. Shame about the vocals.

MOD Films

This month is the launch of my new venture - MOD Films - a company aimed at helping film-makers manage their assets and manage their relationships with interactive companies. Re-use has never been a focus of film-making but this is changing, especially as more and more film productions and game productions have to work in tandem.

Music industry raids on Kazaa

An old ex-partner of thequality.com is again in the headlines as music industry lawyers raid both Kazaa and BDE offices (and the homes of key executives) in search of evidence of copyright infringement. I'll be surprised if anything sticks given the track records of these guys. Staying a hair's breadth inside the law, while occaisionally overstepping the line on ethics, appears to be a specialty. Regardless of whether Kazaa survives or not, the music industry is still at war on this one...

Although isn't major label support for P2P monitoring services like Big Champagne (to monitor listener tastes) a bit like sleeping with the enemy?
