Nelson gets a papering

Last little outing before leaving Sydney - watching students delivering their Stop VSU petitions to Brendan Nelson's office in leafy Linfield. The locals didn't seem too amused but the police did express their appreciation for a demonstration that made its point without causing them any grief. I overheard one telling the student organisers, "And next time, don't gather in the carpark beforehand if you don't want someone to call us!".

Fish play music

Very cool to see that Julie Freeman's fish tagging art piece "The Lake" has opened. Julie and I spent some time last year pouring over her plans for this but the proof is in the pudding, or in this case, the water. No mean feat considering the interplay of various technologies (Max MSP, Flash, wireless networking etc) and real critters.
