Mack's been hacking into computers since he learned how to say "Help me Obi-Wan you're my only hope!" He vehemently RESISTS any idea of making remixable film software available through open source because it might take the lime-light away from the pirates and hackers who he fancifully believes are the only true HEROES in the information technology game. This however doesn't mean that he hasn't already hacked himself a copy of this software or that he won't continue to keep an inquistive eye on MOD Films.

I guess the point is that we want to encourage new forms and some of those new forms will no doubt be cheeky and some will be objectionable.
modfilms.net is about creating a virtual sandpit to play in. If Mack tips all the sand out so other kids can't play then he's not going to be popular with us or them. If his hack subverts the content, form or even the technology then let the audience decide.
All I'm saying is keep an eye-out for jealous, socio-pathic and very astute TROUBLE-MAKERS.. especially in view of my recent loss of a huge fully functioning MSN Group which disapperead without a trace.. or reason!! Better to have the Macks of this world on your side rather than opposing you for whatever reason..
