| Description | : | May is a Cabaret Peformer from New York who decided to move to Berlin as a direct consequence of September 11, pre-empting that 'the tides of change were soon going to bring the entire country to its knees'. She's always been good with words and even better with people - a veritable PR machine, although she never had any formal training of any sort.. just one of those people who's naturally good at anything she does, especially talking folks into doing all kinds of things.
Brought up in a foster home on the peripheral outskirts of Brooklyn after her parents both died in a fire, Mark Levi's survival insticts have always been his saviour. And when he decided once and for all to change sex at the age of 27 and become his alter-ego May Whorebag, things really began to fall into place. If May's exhuberant torch songs and poetry readings reminiscent of a meeting between Marlene Dietrich and Wiliam Burroughs weren't enough to attract the media's eyes, her online community status was certainly enough to capture the attention of the entire world wide web. May Whorebag is currently fervently active (and outspoken) on 48 different Social Networks, from Friendster to Orkut, moderating forums and discussions on anything from 'Why Madonna is a Mercenary' to 'Why President Bush should be Castrated'. Her interest in Popular Culture, Underground Art, Religion and Politics is only rivalled by her current passion for all things 'technological', in part because she's currently seeing a 'Big Geek with a Big Deek' from Dusseldorf (her words not mine). Since May's making a documentary about her life and is always looking for new ways to document her life's work, it certainly won't be too much of a chore getting this gal involved in discussions pertaining to MOD film and its narrative applications and implications. The problem once she's in the community may be to get her to shut up. |
